Tyler Robert Joseph is born on December 1st 1988. He grew up in Columbus, Ohio with two brothers, Zack and Jay, and a sister, Madison. When he was a kid Tyler was homeschooled. As a student he was very good at basketball, but he declined the opportunity to go at Otterbein University with full scholarship so he could focus on music. Back then Joseph had serious problems with depression and suicidal thoughts. He expressed himself through music and that helped him improve his mental health.
Before Twenty One Pilots Tyler released a solo album called ,,No Phun Intended”. That album was heavily focused on suicide and Joseph’s connection with God. He comes from a religious family and has said that faith has helped him go through the dark times. However Tyler tells his fans that they don’t have to share his view on religion for his songs to help them. His opinion is that everyone can see a different meaning behind songs.
Tyler has several tattoos but in an interviews he has said that he doesn’t want to publicly talk about the meaning behind them, but if you ask him on a meet and greet or a concert he will explain it.
Tyler got engaged to his girlfriend Jenna Black on July 8th 2014 and then married her on March 28th 2015.
