Joshua William Dun is born on June 18th 1988 in Columbus, Ohio. He has two sisters, Ashley and Abigail, and a brother – Jordan. When Dun was young he was nothing like he is now – he was always angry, screaming at his parents and treating them terribly. They even almost threw him out when he was 14.
Josh would often buy punk rock albums and hide them under his bed, because his parents forbid him to listen to this kind of music, instead insisting he listens to christian music. The first instrument Dun learnt was the trumpet, but he was never awesome at it. After that he started teaching himself to play the drums by trying to copy the beats on the radio. Josh worked at a Guitar Center when he met the Twenty One Pilots’ drummer Chris Salih who then introduced him to his future bandmate Tyler Joseph.
Josh Dun is known for changing his hair every few months. he has painted his hair in more than 5 different colors. Josh has said he does that, so people can’t take advantage of him, because he looks too vulnerable.
In 2017 Josh got a labrador, Jim, as an emotional support animal.
Dun has been dating actress Debby Ryan since 2013. They broke up in 2014, but sometime after that they got back together and they have been together ever since. On December 23th 2018 they announced their engagement.
